En una peque\u00f1a ciudad intermedia de la que realmente no recuerdo el nombre, me encontraba realizando una peque\u00f1a escala para comer, debido a que mi vuelo de las 2:00 p.m. hab\u00eda sido cancelado por razones que a\u00fan no entend\u00eda. Ustedes saben, llega una notificaci\u00f3n al celular y simplemente te dicen: \u201cTu vuelo ha sido cancelado, dir\u00edgete al\u00a0caunter<\/em>\u00a0para mas informaci\u00f3n\u201d.<\/p>

As\u00ed que pens\u00e9 en una frase que la vida nos ha ense\u00f1ado: \u201ctodo pasa por algo\u201d, o si prefieren una m\u00e1s maternal: \u201ceso es porque no le conven\u00eda\u201d.<\/p>

No pens\u00e9 mucho sobre el asunto, ya que las palabras de mi madre acerca de que \u201cno debemos preocuparnos por las cosas que no podemos controlar\u201d segu\u00edan retumbando en mi cabeza. Y si les soy sincero, la mezcla entre las palabras de mi madre y el hecho de haber visto\u00a0Destino Final<\/em>\u00a0antes de abordar el avi\u00f3n, logr\u00f3 convencerme totalmente de no pelear por el abrupto cambio de horario de mi vuelo, que ahora ser\u00eda a las 10:00 p.m.<\/p>

Con el nuevo horario de despegue llegar\u00eda a mi ciudad en horas de la noche, as\u00ed que decid\u00ed aprovechar el tiempo y salir a conocer el lugar en donde me encontraba.<\/p>

Creo que esa idea no solo la tuve yo, al parecer los problemas ven\u00edan juntos. El peque\u00f1o aeropuerto estaba experimentando fallas en su sistema de aire acondicionado y muchos de los viajeros que aparentemente ser\u00edan mis compa\u00f1eros de vuelo, decidieron salir en b\u00fasqueda de un lugar menos caluroso.<\/p>

Una particularidad que tienen muchos aeropuertos del pa\u00eds, especialmente los de ciudades capitales, es el hecho de estar ubicados a la salida de los centros urbanos, estando realmente localizados en municipios aleda\u00f1os, por lo que en muchos casos resulta costoso salir a explorar la ciudad m\u00e1s cercana.<\/p>

Ya afuera del aeropuerto el calor era terrible. La temperatura era tan insoportable, que la idea rom\u00e1ntica de recorrer algunos parques y tomarles fotos a algunos monumentos se transform\u00f3 en pedirle desesperadamente al se\u00f1or conductor de un taxi que me llevara a un lugar donde pudiera pasar la tarde y que, en lo posible, tuviera aire acondicionado.<\/p>

El taxista me recomend\u00f3 un centro comercial de tama\u00f1o considerable que estaba a unos veinte minutos del aeropuerto y que efectivamente contaba con aire acondicionado. Sin pensarlo mucho, le confirm\u00e9 mi destino y partimos rumbo a dicho lugar.<\/p>

El camino, como muchos lugares de Colombia, se compon\u00eda de una gran v\u00eda rodeada de zonas verdes, monta\u00f1as y muchos puestos de control en las carreteras, e igualmente, como muchas v\u00edas del pa\u00eds, estaba repleta de carros particulares buscando el mejor lugar para comprarse alg\u00fan postre.<\/p>

Luego de tres canciones de radio aproximadamente, arribamos al centro comercial, le pagu\u00e9 al conductor y me dispuse a entrar al lugar.<\/p>

No saben el placer que da el recibir la primera bocanada de aire fr\u00edo en la cual sientes que el calor que te abrasaba desaparece, y entrar a un nuevo piso t\u00e9rmico muchos m\u00e1s fresco; es de las mejores sensaciones que puede vivir alguien como yo, habituado a la temperatura de la capital del pa\u00eds.<\/p>

Estaba recorriendo los pasillos del centro comercial con un granizado de caf\u00e9 de mi marca favorita, hasta que empec\u00e9 a percibir algo curioso:<\/p>

Una aglomeraci\u00f3n de personas se encontraba tom\u00e1ndole fotos a un tipo con ropa deportiva. El sujeto ten\u00eda rasgos \u00e1rabes, de cabello algo rizado, dientes blancos y un collar que sobresal\u00eda sobre su chaqueta blanca, todo su\u00a0outfit<\/em>\u00a0era de ese color. Daba la sensaci\u00f3n de ser un deportista, o cantante\u2026 La verdad ya no sab\u00eda qu\u00e9 pensar.<\/p>

Desde la irrupci\u00f3n de las redes sociales, existen personas con canales de YouTube tan espec\u00edficos y de nicho, que pueden tener millones de vistas y a la vez no ser conocidos ni siquiera por sus familiares. La fama hoy en d\u00eda es algo tan relativo que podr\u00eda estar frente al sujeto m\u00e1s rico del mundo sin conocerlo, porque puede que esa persona nunca haya abierto un perfil en Instagram, por ejemplo.<\/strong><\/p>

Me sent\u00e9 no tan lejos del \u00e1ngulo visual de la \u201ccelebridad\u201d, para analizarlo desde una distancia prudente y as\u00ed intentar conocer qui\u00e9n era esa persona; igual tiempo libre ten\u00eda de sobra.<\/p>

La mayor\u00eda de las personas que lo fotografiaban eran j\u00f3venes entre los 17 y los 19 a\u00f1os, as\u00ed que por la edad de los fan\u00e1ticos descart\u00e9 que fuera un futbolista reconocido. Mis sospechas iban m\u00e1s hacia creador de contenido, youtuber o cantante del g\u00e9nero urbano. Termin\u00e9 suprimiendo esto \u00faltimo, pues el sujeto se ve\u00eda que estaba solo y por su lenguaje corporal hasta llegu\u00e9 a pensar que para \u00e9l mismo era una sorpresa que le pidieran tomarse fotograf\u00edas.<\/p>

El escenario fue el mismo durante unos 35 minutos a partir de cuando me sent\u00e9 en ese lugar. Mi curiosidad lleg\u00f3 al l\u00edmite cuando vi pasar un grupo de jovencitas frente a m\u00ed y muy t\u00edmidamente les pregunt\u00e9: \u201cdisculpen, \u00bfqui\u00e9n es el joven a quien muchos le est\u00e1n pidiendo fotograf\u00edas?\u201d<\/p>

Las jovencitas, sorprendidas, me dijeron que era un sujeto llamado Jhon Jairo.<\/p>

La respuesta me dej\u00f3 con m\u00e1s dudas. \u201c\u00bfY qu\u00e9 hace Jhon Jairo?\u201d, repliqu\u00e9.<\/p>

Con una mirada de much\u00edsima sorpresa, me dijeron: \u201cEs un creador de contenido experimental\u201d.<\/p>

\u201cDisc\u00falpenme nuevamente, pero: \u00bfqu\u00e9 tipo de contenido experimental crea?\u201d, insist\u00ed.<\/p>

Las jovencitas, nuevamente muy sorprendidas, me respondieron: \u201cTe vamos a pasar sus redes sociales y m\u00edralo t\u00fa mismo. El contenido de \u00e9l es toda una experiencia\u201d.<\/p>

Las chichas me pasaron las redes sociales del creador de contenido, les agradec\u00ed por el tiempo que se tomaron para explicarme (aunque no entendiera), y regres\u00e9 para sentarme y comenzar a intentar entender qu\u00e9 carajos hac\u00eda Jhon Jairo y el porqu\u00e9 de su fama.<\/p>

Estuve aproximadamente veinte minutos con la boca abierta luego de leer su descripci\u00f3n y el origen de su fama. M\u00e1s o menos esto dec\u00eda su perfil:<\/p>

\u201cJHON JAIRO SUPERSTAR \u2013 ARTISTA DE EXPERIENCIA<\/strong><\/p>

Hola. Quiero sentir la sensaci\u00f3n de ser famoso, si me ves solo p\u00eddeme una foto para ayudarme a cumplir mi sue\u00f1o.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>

Se podr\u00eda decir que el creador de contenido se encargaba de transmitir en vivo la simulaci\u00f3n de ser famoso y mostraba c\u00f3mo desconocidos le ped\u00edan fotograf\u00edas. Mi mente boomer no entend\u00eda lo que estaba pasando, y fue tanta la confusi\u00f3n, que ca\u00ed en este experimento social y decid\u00ed pedirle una foto.<\/p>

Me acerqu\u00e9 a Jhon Jairo y mientras me tomaba una selfie con \u00e9l, le dije: \u201cDisculpe, pero, \u00bfqu\u00e9 sentido tiene simular la fama y sentirse como una celebridad?\u201d<\/p>

El hombre solo se limit\u00f3 a decirme: \u201cNinguna, por eso es tan genial\u201d.<\/p>

Con una confusi\u00f3n mayor, me levant\u00e9 y decid\u00ed buscar algo de comer para despu\u00e9s dirigirme al aeropuerto, pues al parecer de todo lo que hab\u00eda visto hab\u00eda olvidado lo m\u00e1s importante: mi alimentaci\u00f3n y mi viaje.<\/p>

Luego de comer, era momento de tomar un taxi para dirigirme nuevamente hacia el aeropuerto, pero no dejaba de pensar en c\u00f3mo carajos alguien simulando ser famoso era relativamente famoso; en qu\u00e9 momento la fama se da de esa manera, por qu\u00e9 la fama no se da por alg\u00fan m\u00e9rito\u2026 \u00bfSer\u00e1 que al ser un boomer no lograba entenderlo?<\/p>

Con la confusi\u00f3n en la cabeza y ya dentro del avi\u00f3n esperando arrancar para llegar a mi casa, un joven que iba por el pasillo del aeroplano se detuvo y me pidi\u00f3 tomarse una foto conmigo.<\/p>

Le pregunt\u00e9 que cu\u00e1l era el motivo, a lo que el joven me respondi\u00f3:<\/p>

\u201cUsted tiene el r\u00e9cord de ser la persona m\u00e1s adulta en pedirle una foto a Jhon Jairo, es el boomer m\u00e1s cool del mundo\u201d.<\/p>

Me tom\u00e9 la foto y el chico se fue agradecido. Muchos pasajeros se quedaron mir\u00e1ndome con la misma cara que tuve hace unas horas, intentando hallar respuesta al por qu\u00e9 ese hombre de mediana edad (yo) era famoso. Al parecer, mis quince minutos de fama llegaron en un aeropuerto y dentro de un avi\u00f3n.<\/p>

El sujeto que iba al lado m\u00edo, no aguant\u00f3 la curiosidad y me pregunt\u00f3: \u201coiga, \u00bfusted por qu\u00e9 es famoso?\u201d<\/p>

A lo que simplemente le dije: \u201cNo tengo ni idea, pero es muy genial\u201d.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

In a small mid-sized city whose name I really can’t remember, I found myself making a brief stop for lunch because my 2:00 p.m. flight had been canceled for reasons I still didn’t understand. You know, a notification comes to your phone, and they simply tell you, “Your flight has been canceled, go to the counter for more information.”<\/p>

So, I thought of a phrase life has taught us: “everything happens for a reason,” or if you prefer a more maternal one: “that’s because it wasn’t meant to be.”<\/p>

I didn’t dwell on the matter much, as my mother’s words about “not worrying about things we can’t control” were still echoing in my head. And if I’m honest, the mix of my mother’s words and having watched “Final Destination” before boarding the plane completely convinced me not to fight the abrupt change in my flight schedule, which was now at 10:00 p.m.<\/p>

With the new departure time, I would arrive in my city late at night, so I decided to make the most of the time and go out to explore the place where I was.<\/p>

I think I wasn’t the only one with that idea; apparently, problems come together. The small airport was experiencing issues with its air conditioning system, and many travelers who would apparently be my fellow passengers decided to go in search of a cooler place.<\/p>

A peculiarity that many airports in the country, especially those in capital cities, have is being located at the outskirts of urban centers, actually being situated in neighboring municipalities. In many cases, it’s costly to explore the nearest city.<\/p>

Once outside the airport, the heat was unbearable. The temperature was so intolerable that the romantic idea of strolling through some parks and taking photos of monuments turned into desperately asking a taxi driver to take me to a place where I could spend the afternoon and, if possible, have air conditioning.<\/p>

The taxi driver recommended a sizable shopping mall about twenty minutes from the airport, and indeed, it had air conditioning. Without much thought, I confirmed my destination and set off for that place.<\/p>

The journey, like many places in Colombia, consisted of a large road surrounded by green areas, mountains, and many checkpoints on the roads. Similarly, like many roads in the country, it was filled with private cars seeking the best spot to buy some dessert.<\/p>

After about three radio songs, we arrived at the shopping mall. I paid the driver and went inside.<\/p>

You don’t know the pleasure of receiving the first breath of cold air where you feel the heat that was burning you vanishing, and entering a new, much cooler thermal floor; it’s one of the best sensations that someone like me, accustomed to the temperature of the country’s capital, can experience.<\/p>

I was strolling through the mall aisles with a frozen coffee from my favorite brand when I began to notice something curious:<\/p>

A crowd of people was taking pictures of a guy in sportswear. The guy had Arab features, somewhat curly hair, white teeth, and a necklace that stood out over his white jacket; his whole outfit was of that color. He seemed like an athlete, or a singer… Honestly, I no longer knew what to think.<\/p>

Since the advent of social media, there are people with YouTube channels so specific and niche that they can have millions of views and still not be known even by their relatives. Fame nowadays is so relative that I could be in front of the richest person in the world without knowing it because that person may have never opened an Instagram profile, for example.<\/p>

I sat not too far from the “celebrity’s” line of sight to analyze him from a prudent distance and try to figure out who this person was; I had plenty of free time anyway.<\/p>

Most of the people taking pictures were young, between 17 and 19 years old, so considering the age of the fans, I ruled out that he was a recognized football player. My suspicions leaned more towards a content creator, YouTuber, or urban genre singer. I ended up discarding the latter because the guy looked like he was alone, and from his body language, I even thought it might be a surprise for him to be asked for photos.<\/p>

The scene was the same for about 35 minutes from when I sat in that place. My curiosity reached its limit when I saw a group of girls passing by me, and very timidly, I asked them, “excuse me, who is the guy whom many are asking for photos?”<\/p>

The girls, surprised, told me that he was a guy named Jhon Jairo.<\/p>

The answer left me with more doubts. “And what does Jhon Jairo do?” I asked.<\/p>

With a look of great surprise, they said to me, “He’s an experimental content creator.”<\/p>

“Excuse me again, but what kind of experimental content does he create?” I insisted.<\/p>

The girls, again very surprised, replied, “We’ll give you his social media, and you can see for yourself. His content is a whole experience.”<\/p>

The girls gave me the content creator’s social media, I thanked them for the time they took to explain it to me (even though I didn’t understand), and I returned to sit down to begin to try to understand what the heck Jhon Jairo was doing and the reason for his fame.<\/p>

I spent about twenty minutes with my mouth open after reading his description and the origin of his fame. His profile roughly said this:<\/p>

“JHON JAIRO SUPERSTAR \u2013 EXPERIENCE ARTIST<\/p>

Hello. I want to feel the sensation of being famous; if you see me alone, ask for a photo to help me fulfill my dream.”<\/p>

You could say the content creator was broadcasting live the simulation of being famous and showed how strangers asked him for photographs. My boomer mind didn’t understand what was happening, and there was so much confusion that I fell into this social experiment and decided to ask for a photo.<\/p>

I approached Jhon Jairo, and while taking a selfie with him, I said, “Excuse me, but what sense does it make to simulate fame and feel like a celebrity?”<\/p>

The man simply told me, “None, that’s why it’s so cool.”<\/p>

With even greater confusion, I got up and decided to find something to eat before heading to the airport, as it seemed I had forgotten the most important thing of all: my food and my trip.<\/p>

After eating, it was time to take a taxi to go back to the airport, but I couldn’t stop thinking about how the heck someone simulating being famous was relatively famous. At what point does fame happen like that, why fame doesn’t come from some merit… Could it be that being a boomer I couldn’t understand it?<\/p>

With confusion in my head and already inside the plane waiting to take off to get home, a young man in the plane’s aisle stopped and asked me to take a photo with him.<\/p>

I asked him what the reason was, to which the young man replied, “You have the record for being the oldest person to ask Jhon Jairo for a photo; you’re the coolest boomer in the world.”<\/p>

I took the photo, and the guy left grateful. Many passengers stared at me with the same look I had a few hours ago, trying to find an answer to why that middle-aged man (me) was famous. Apparently, my fifteen minutes of fame came in an airport and inside a plane.<\/p>

The guy next to me couldn’t resist his curiosity and asked me, “Hey, why are you<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
